General Services & Admissions

1. What services does Cypress Cares provide?

We provide residential assisted living for adults with mental health conditions. Our homes offer 24/7 staff support, medication management, meals, daily living assistance, and coordination with outside mental health professionals. Residents live in safe, structured, and caring environments.

2. Who do you serve, and what are the admission criteria?

We serve adults who are psychiatrically stable and can live safely in a shared home environment. There’s no upper age limit. We do not accept individuals with active aggression or severe instability. Residents must be able to participate in daily life with supportive care.

3. How do I start the admission process?

Submit a referral or contact form online, and we’ll respond within 24 hours. We move quickly to assess fit, schedule tours, and coordinate next steps — often within just a few days.

4. Are there options for private rooms?

Yes, we offer both single and shared rooms depending on availability. We do our best to honor resident preferences and foster compatible pairings in shared rooms.

Mental Health Support & Care

5. What types of mental health support do you offer?

While we are not a clinical treatment center, we specialize in supporting residents with mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and depression. We work closely with external providers and ensure residents receive structure, medication, and emotional support.

6. How do you ensure residents’ safety and well-being?

All homes are staffed 24/7 by trained caregivers. We follow safety protocols, monitor resident wellness, and create individualized care plans. Our staff builds trusting relationships to support stability and dignity.

7. Is staff available 24/7?

Yes — Cypress homes are never left unattended. Our staff are trained in supervision, medication administration, and mental health support, providing round-the-clock assistance.

8. How are medications managed?

We securely store and administer medications according to doctors’ orders and state regulations. Staff track doses, document compliance, and notify care teams of concerns or changes.

9. Can Cypress help coordinate care with outside providers?

Yes. We partner with case managers, therapists, psychiatrists, and primary care physicians. We can help with scheduling, transportation, and follow-up.

Costs, Meals & Living Experience

10. What is the cost of care, and what’s included?

Cypress accepts Medicaid and other public funding. The out-of-pocket portion is determined by your local county human services department. Our rates cover housing, meals, utilities, personal care, medication assistance, supervision, cable, and Wi-Fi.

11. What kind of meals do residents receive?

We serve three nutritious meals a day plus snacks. Meals are home-cooked and tailored to dietary needs, cultural preferences, and resident input. Residents may also assist with meal routines for engagement.

12. Do residents participate in activities or outings?

Yes. We offer daily activities such as games, crafts, exercise, and more. Outings may include errands, walks, or community events, based on availability and staff coordination.

13. Can family and friends visit?

Yes — visitors are always welcome. We have an open visitor policy and encourage family involvement as part of a healthy support system.
